Mrs. Kong is an educator and an adult learning practitioner.
She has a Master of Science degree of Applied Statistics, and a Master of Education degree of Adult Learning and Leadership, both from Teachers College, Columbia University in the New York City. During her school time in New York City, she taught math in a private middle school for 6th, 7th and 8th graders. She also worked as a teaching assistant in her department, helping other graduate students at Teachers College understand the statistics concepts. Outside school, she designed training materials for engineers to help them transit from technicians to science and engineering teachers. 'Recall the time when you first learned the concepts. What would you wish your teacher would have said to you?' Said Mrs. Kong to the engineers, 'An educator should be someone who really connects with his/her students. They need you to understand them.'
Mrs. Kong devotes herself to bring up more authentic educators for the younger generation. After getting married, Mrs. Kong moved to Houston with Mr. Kong and settled down in The Lone Star State. She is now a math tutor for students from 5th grade to 12th grade, as well as some adult learners who struggle with their GRE quantitative test. Mrs. Kong has spent approximately 300 hours helping her students over the 2018-2019 school year.
